Potomac Region News
by Doris Montgomery, Regional Trustee
The Potomac Region is on the move. Installations of new officers have been buzzing all over the regions. Trainings and goals have been set and we are of to a good start. Governor Don Dudey, is also on the move of attending his visits through out the Capital District. Lets keep up the good work and dont forget to recruit.
Members of the Potomac Region, I am still trying to get the "Kids Against Hunger" of the ground. I realize we all have community service projects, annual projects, ect. that we look forward to serving monthly. The Kids Against Hunger is a program of feeding starving children around the world. The organization has been doing so for more than 20 years.
Harold Jewels from the Northwest Kiwanis Club has agreed to chair this project. Harold attended the KAH DC Metro group who sponsored the project on October 24, 2009. The location was GWU Medical Center, Washington, DC. They had orientation throughout the day and food packaging sessions went on until 4pm. I understand they will sponsor this project on a monthly basic. The KAH DC METRO, INC. a non profit organizion ,have invited us to participate with them.
If you are interested please email Harold. The Northwest Kiwanis Club has a 501 C 3 status as many other kiwanis clubs. I am requesting members of the Potomac Region to email Harold Jewels at hailj4713@aol.com if you are interested in supporting this one day project. ONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE and there is POWER IN ONE.
