Key Clubbers Bowl for Kids and Get Noticed!
by Heather Talbert
On Saturday January 9th, members of the Dulles Area Kiwanis (DAK) along with Key Club members from several area Key Clubs (Washington-Lee, Bishop O'Connell, Broad Run, Dominion, Potomac Falls) came together for the first bowl-a-thon to benefit DC Children's Hospital. Developed as a fundraiser event in conjunction with the Washington Post Children's Hospital fundraising effort, the event garnered the attention of Post columnist John Kelly who was in attendance and wrote about the effort in a recent column (see link below).
When all was said and done, $1,047 was raised to benefit the hospital. Both DAK and the Key Clubs are looking forward to hosting the event again next year.
