Leisure World Club Supports USO

Kiwanis Club of Leisure World just completed a project dedicated to our troups. B.W.I. Airport's U.S.O. Lounge provides a place where the service men and women can rest, play games, visit and snack as they travel to and from overseas assignments.. Some of our members have grandchildren serving our country and each Friday several Happy Dollars go for our trops. Therefore, this project was launched...a list from the U.S.O. was obtained, our members began shopping with hopes that every member would bring at least one or two items the military persons especially enjoy. A large collection of the many and varied items requested by our service personnell overlowed the baskets on each table. We believe this project to be one of our very best with 100% participation. A volunteer from the U.S.O. will transport some fourty bags to B.W.I. for us .We are a club who lives out the motto which guides all clubs...service to the peoples of the world...So, this manifestaion of the giving spirit is alive and well here in Leisure World Club.
