Seeks Help with DCON Presentation Materials

by Bill Butts, District Chair, Comm/PR Committee

This email is a request for you to share your club's effective marketing & communications tactics/materials as part of two sessions scheduled for our DCON meeting coming up in Dover in 4 weeks.

There will be one session on Club Communications, and another on Club Marketing at DCON this year. In each session, I would like to share with attendees, as many examples as possible of actual club tactics and materials that have you have successfully utilized. These materials/tactics may be completely home-grown, or they may be templates you have obtained from Kiwanis International or another club and successfully modified for your club's use. No matter as long as they have worked for you and other clubs might benefit from seeing and hearing about them.

Examples of Communication & Marketing Materials. There are lots of possiblities, but here's a few obvious examples as a place to start:

  • Websites (not your primary club website, but if you have created additional pages/links to your primary club site, share those)
  • Newsletters (many of you have submitted your club's newsletter to this year's District Newsletter Contest..., but if not or you have an addendum/new or creative approach, then send it to me or bring it to Dover)
  • Club Brochure(s)
  • Flyers, club business cards or other print materials
  • Signage (photos, primarily, please)
  • New Member Orientation materials (PowerPoint, Print Materials, Other)
  • A General Introductory Marketing Piece (e.g. a PowerPoint that complements your club brochure)
  • PR or Marketing Components to your club's successful fundraisers and/or service projects
  • Marketing/PR/Communications components for partnered projects you conduct with other local entities

Anything else that you've created and utilized that helped your club market itself and/or your activities. I would be especially interested in seeing any materials/tactics in support of club growth & development or the implementation of your club's Strategic Plan.

Email or regular mail those materials to me in advance of Dover... or if easier, simply email me about them and bring them with you to DCON. Either way, thanks in advance for your submissions and we look forward to seeing you or club's representatives at this year's DCON!
