West Potomac Key Club Sponsor Valentine Dance for Hollin Hall Seniors
by Vivien Peterson, MT Vernon Kiwanis Secretary
For the third year, the Key Club of West Potomac High School, Alexandria (Fairfax County) Virginia, sponsored a Valentine Dance at The Hollin Hall Senior Center, 1500 Shenandoah Road, on Friday, February 17, 2012. Forty-six senior citizens, Key Club officers, a large number of Key Club members, three faculty advisors, two center directors and their Kiwanis advisor turned out for the two hour dance.
Attendees danced to popular "oldies and not so old" music by D.J. Zbedski, and dined on delicious food catered by Famous Dave's Barbecue Restaurant of Alexandria. Highlights of the after school event included a cake walk, where everyone had a chance to take home delicious goodies donated by Key Club members, and a door prize give- away, with prizes provided by the Hollin Hall Center Administration.
The event was colorful, brought joy to all who attended, and demonstrated how much enjoyment seniors and students can share together. This is the third Valentine Dance given by the West Potomac Key Club. They are sponsored by the MT Vernon Kiwanis Club.
